Curious if gaming mice work with Amiga based systems running Amiga OS 4.1.x?
I know they show only compatible with Windows and Mac systems because more than likely special system apps need to be run to program all the buttons but thinking the basic left/right mouse clicks and scroll wheels should still work.
Was eying the Cyborg RAT 9 Wireless Gaming mouse for comfort mostly as you can tweak the mouse to really fit your hand but wondered if there are any preference apps on Amiga to harness some of the other gaming mice programming?

Would also be fun to use on quake, etc...

I think AmigaInput in the Prefs drawer is the only thing that could come close to configuring it, and even then it certainly wouldn't be on par with the configurability offered on a PC. Aside from the ergonomic reason you mention, I see no point to getting one of these for the Amiga.
