Title: A4k won't boot
Post by: gwalp on January 12, 2004, 12:13:53 AM
My A4k will not boot up right. It starts to boot then gives an AmigaDOS screen that says
C:Version failed Return code 20
I know the hard drive is good I have been using it in my PC with WinUae.
I just want to load some stuff from floppy and it's easier to do it from my A4k them try to do ADF files.
I have 3.9 OS installed and can't find the old Emergency boot disk I made many moons ago.

Hmm...  What ROMs are in the A4000?  Are you running the right version of C:Setpatch?

Personally, I bet that's your problem.  If you don't run the OS3.9 setpatch first thing in your startup, your ROM version won't match for the OS you're trying to load..

I have 3.1 roms.  I checked the Setpatch and the one on the drive was the same as the one on the 3.9 OS cd, but I copy it over anyway.  Hopefully that will work.
