Now, unless if Ted Ga11ion is actually going to amend the posting guidelines here, what would be the justification for editing/removing the posts mentioning his name?
- You cannot use a tag that contains censored words.

Ţėđ Ğąľłįőŋ? Who's he?

Maybe it's a goofy thing to prevent spoilers to the audio that will be removed some time later.

@Piru
Indeed. (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?p=675597#post675597)

Hardly a secret, MooBunny named him in November of 2009.....

The only "justification" he needs is that it is his website and his choice.
Move along.... nothing to see here...

Ted Gаllion? Never heard about him...

I hear if you type your social security number here, it stars it out. For instance, ***-**-****.
Pretty cool, huh?
Joke, BTW.

Ah! I finally figured out why the extreme closeup on Piru's screenshot...
When they pulled back, there was too much reflection off of the tin foil hat... ;-)
This is not a "public meeting place," this is a privately owned site that we use...
If he doesn't want his name all over it, he has that right..
It would be nice to think we can be respectful enough to accept that, rather than react as tho he's covering up something or removing our ability exchange ideas openly..
This is about the most open site I've seen...
The ..er.. "discussions" here are allowed HUGE amounts of leeway...
Much more than on many other sites....
Interesting.....
I'm reminded of a line from Life of Brian..
"Just no pleasing some people".... ;-)

So who is this Noillag Det, anyway?

"reasons" are nice.

Why does it matter if we know who owns the site or not? It's a good site, I enjoy it. Now that I know some name to call it's owner, what has changed? So far I still enjoy it and think it's a good site. And being able to type or say a name still doesn't tell me who that is, and I really don't care. It's a good site that I enjoy, so whoever he is, he must be doing OK with it.

What do you care? I personally wouldn't want my name plastered all over the place either. That is why we all use aliases when online genius...
Talk about trolling...
-
I really get tired of this kind of BS... When you buy your own site you can post your sorry name all over it if you like, but THIS site is owned by someone that doesn't wish to do that. And by the way, as has been stated numerous times, this site is NOT a country and NO RIGHTS ARE IMPLIED. You have no effing right to anything here as a user. The OWNER can do any damned thing he/she wants in regard to his/her site and that is how it should be. All of you "I am entitled to blah blah blah" can shut yer holes and buy your own site. If you don't like the fact that you have zero rights here.. LEAVE Regardless STFU and let the rest of us enjoy the site that has been graciously provided by someone we don't even know..
-
For sure the owner has the right to do whatever he wishes but hiding in the closet is weird and doesn't do much to instill trust with the forum users.
Personally I don't care, but I can understand why such behavior would irritate some people.
-
@outlawal2
Are you affected by a post talking about one person that havent any importance? You talk about a place without rights and are you applying your own rights with this post, thats really crap.

And that made absolutely no sense whatsoever... I am affected simply because people try to bring down others that are actually DOING something. As for rights, a FORUM is specifically designed to discuss issue, opinions etc.. HOWEVER, that does not mean that the users have any rights to the site itself or how it is run.. Or that someone's name needs to be included...
I am not "applying my rights" just stating an opinion and if you disagree that is your prerogative...
-
Personally I find the whole "your opinion is meaningless because " lame. Strange behavior causes people to comment about it, nothing more, nothing less.
-
Amazing the continual commenting and bickering over this topic. It's never too late, but perhaps had there been a formal introduction made by the new site owner a couple of years ago, this irritating and waste of space banter would cease to exist.
While I personally think it appropriate and relevant for the new owner to introduce himself, if he wants to stay in the closet for whatever reason, so be it. Let it rest already and enjoy the site for what it is.
I just see this entire controversy as more unnecessary A.org drama. Long live the Amiga curse I guess.

I don't particularly care who the man is, or what his interests are. But there are valid reasons people have questions - some of them being:
1 - Data and information integrity - I do like the assumed idea that my information that I have provided (email addy, IP's, etc) to a site are not being used for spam or marketing purposes, etc. Would you use forums operated by a known spam king? I wouldn't, but I also don't use real data like my main email address for any forums, generally.
2 - the old "I hope he's one of us, is all" factor. Doesn't really effect me, but I am sure some people here would be more content with the idea a new owner is a born and bred Amiga fan and user, rather than perhaps someone just buying a forums site for advert click-thru's.
End of the day, forums sites are a dime a dozen and if one doesn't like the place (here or elsewhere), there's other options - including starting your own, which costs very little these days.

As you said tho, it doesn't matter what his name is, as you don't use real data...
The fact is, that argument is largely fluff as most people have no idea who owns most of the sites they frequent on the Internet..
And, if he was a "known SPAM king," isn't it more likely he'd use some fake name and it wouldn't help anyway.. ;-)
Careful people treat their data carefully, regardless of who might own the site.
It really doesn't matter at all...
How many times have you heard anyone say, "Oh, I don't go to that site because it's owned by ."???
Smart/safe people treat all these sites as risky, regardless of who owns them...

I do care about the ownership of the site. Maybe some guys here are testing the limits:) Personally I think so far so good, everyone is allowed to express their view which I think gives this site some appealing to it, as long as it doesn't degenerate too much some threads are actually comic:)

I know, right! It's not like he blabbed about it on some Internet radio show or anything. Leave the guy alone!
