Title: help me buy amiga 500
Post by: rednova on January 27, 2012, 05:12:27 PM
Hi:

I am looking forward to buy an amiga 500.
I don't have the money now, but I will save it for later.
I really wanted to buy it from oldsoftware.com
but it costs $400 and that is very steep price for me.
If I go to ebay or amibay, I can get amiga 500 for $100
and that is much cheaper.Oldsoftware.com does test that
the amiga works...but is gonna take me a while to save the money.
Please help me decide !!!

$400 is way too much to spend on an A500.

$400.00 for an A500? You are kidding, aren't you. Does that include a hard drive?
Anyone who pays that for a basic A500 deserves the hole in their bank account.
eBay can be very dangerous though. Only buy from some one who says it works, and has 100% positive feedback. That way you're safe.

$100 is a fair price for A500, I just sold one of mine with 1MB for the same price.
$400 is for A4000.

Wow they get good prices in the US. I have about 6 A500/plus and never paid more than 10 euros for each one. The cheapest i ever paid was something like 2 euros though it was very dirty and the floppy drive only works about 60%.
