Title: should I buy the HxC?
Post by: CritAnime on January 22, 2012, 12:15:59 AM
The floppy drive on my 600 is starting to sound a little on the unhealthy side. So I was thinking of replacing it with the HxC floppy emulator and was wondering what others think to it. Is it a viable full time replacment to the floppy drive or does it have issues with certain thing? Also does it use .ADF or does it require disks to be converted?

Hi
never used one but found this information maybe you've already seen it http://torlus.com/floppy/ or maybe you could read the forums on the website, you can also contact Gregor at the bottom of the site page.

Hope this helps :)

yeah I have been browsing the site. Seems to be a nice bit of kit but I could really do with some real life user feedback on the thing. :)

I'd personally go with the SD model over the USB model. A better (windows free) experience all around.

yeah thats the one I have been looking at. Browsing the site I can see that they say it comes with the ability to read .ADF files. So I am wondering how to mount the buttons to the front of the 600.

Is their an external model that can be attached to the floppy drive port?
I don't want to replace my floppy drive, and I don't need to boot from a virtual floppy.
