Title: What are the best emulators for the Amiga?
Post by: AmigaClassicRule on January 21, 2012, 01:29:57 AM
I am looking for the most fastest, best emulators for the Amiga 1200, that runs almost 80% and above games with all the graphics and sounds features working.

The emulators I am looking for are:

1) MSX
2) SNES
3) NES
4) Sega
5) GameBoy

Thanks in advance.

1). AmiMSX
2). Either Sneese, or snes9x. Neither run full speed on an '060 even though.
3). Coolness
4). AmiMasterGear assuming you mean Master system or GameGear. Megadrive,.... same boat as SNES
5). Wzonkalad runs well on 14mhz '020 + fastram.

While there are some nice, quick emulators out there for the amiga, you'll be very restricted on a stock a1200 in both what you can use, and speed without some sort of upgrades.

It might be helpfull if we know what your 1200 has in her. Processor and fast RAM will help tremendously here.

Right now she have an Apollo 1240 which is really a 68030 @ 30 Mhz with 16 MB of RAM.

I am saving 440 dollars ASIDE each month though for 3 month straight and I am planning on buying a PPC 330 Mhz with 128 MB of RAM with 68060 @ 50 Mhz in the future. Then I am planning on buying AmigaOS 4.1 for the Amiga classic, this is what I am intending to do in the future.
