Due to the last batch of FastATA 1200 MKIV (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Fastata) selling out so fast, we have commissioned a new production run.
We have had confirmation today that manufacturing has just been completed and we are now accepting preorders as the batch will be sent to us next week.

Crikey, I just placed an order.. hopefully there are some left for me :)
I actually love how small these production runs are.. It adds some exclusivity to the components, and some excitement to the whole process..
I also just bought 2 x new i7-2600k's, a couple of GTX560ti's, a gtx570, and none of them interest me like this bespoke ide controller :)

Since you're such a big spender, I have a few other things you could buy for me :)

Heh, not as much as the old days :) I decided it was time to update my A1200, so I've also got a new ACA1231 and Indivision2 on order.. I can't wait for all this new Jens hardware.

Shenanigans!
In the email I got from Jens last week he wouldn't say anything about Indivision2 (for the A1200 or A4000). If you found a source, I want in!!

@ExtremeWays
Many thanks for the order :)

Heh.. Vesalia are taking orders for both of those products.. They reckon they'll have product by the end of January.. which is in.. about 2 hours here..
I don't think they'll be released anytime soon, but when they are I'll have them from Vesalia's allocation... in theory... Otherwise I'll get a refund and get them from Amigakit :)

Have you paid for the pre orders?
We have not had any indication yet from Individual Computers that Indivision 1200 will be here shortly

Got my FastATA 1200 MkIV today...
Mostly sad news.
#1 I cannot use it with my towerized Amiga 1200 because that machine has an Indivision in it and the boards occupy the same physical space. Understand that if you have an Indivision you CANNOT USE this hardware. This should be clearly marked on AmigaKit's product page but it isn't
[strike]#2 I then tried to install it in my A1200 (stock case), REV 1D1, and so far, nothing but a black screen.[/strike]
[strike]I'm not very happy with this transaction at all.[/strike] I'll triple check connections once again and see if I can get it to go. After that I'm left with contacting AmigaKit to see if there is anything they can do (replace, etc...)
#3 UPDATE: Seems one of the ROM pins wasn't seated well enough. A quick reseat solved the problem.
I still cannot use the FastATA on the machine that needs it the most, my OS4.1 machine, but at least I was able to install a SATA PCI card in the OS4.1 machine so the PIO 0 device isn't used much.
Given how little I use the A1200 desktop we'll have to see if it was a wasted purchase or not. Given how rare Amiga hardware is these days, it likely was still a good purchase but can't help but feel bummed.

The Indivision Mk2 page @ Vesalia is here:

Not sure what to make of it... I'll send an email to Jens and ask.

From Jens
I have encouraged AmigaKit to take pre-orders as well, but they don't so far. The "taking pre-orders" means pure collection of customer data, not money. If there is a reseller in the market that already collects money, please let me know. The last steps of development are currently going on and production is very near.
When asked about future KickFlash production runs he said
I may make a new run of Kickflash devices together with some other legacy products later this year. I get frequent requests for Buddha controllers, and they've been out of stock for over a year.
Even if he doesn't post here any more, we're all better off for have a Jens in the world. :)

I also have a FastATA IV as well and have been anticipating getting a Indivision MK II in the future.
I asked this very question and I'm under the impression that this might be possible (even in a Desktop A1200) if you use ROM risers to elevate the FastATA over the Indivision. In my last order to Amigakit I ordered the ROM risers as well as one for the clockport.

Have you even tried to contact Amigakit to see if they have a solution?

G'day Amigakit,
Yeah, Vesalia requested payment for the orders, which I completed through Paypal. I'm not too worried, as I've bought a fair bit from them before and they've always been reliable.
If it was against Jens wishes however, that's not good. I wish I would be able to pay him directly, as he does great work for the Amiga community.
