I just made a meager donation to the Haiku OS project.
If you are not familiar with this up and coming, free clone of the amazing BeOS, you can check it out here:
http://haiku-os.org/
Keep in mind that you will probably be better off checking it out under a virtual environment, unless you are lucky like me and happen to own supported hardware.
Also to note is that this project is still in Alpha (as clearly stated) so it is not technically at version 1.0 yet, but even being in early alpha, it shows a lot more promise than many of the older alt os variants out there at present.
Check it out!!! :)

I'm going to mail it off to Stachu in Poland very soon. Vlabguy had looked at it and did what he could, but appears that the problem lies within the crystal or CPU.
Anyhow, Stachu is going to look it over for me (he upgraded it originally), then we'll go from there.
In the mean time I've got a PPC board on the way from Hungry. :)

I played around with the live CD when they reached version 1.0 and was very impressed.
I would love to be able to use it as my primary OS once it's got the the hardware compatibility and software library to do the job.
Unless AROS gets there first, that is.
