Title: Easiest way to grab own kickstart?
Post by: runequester on January 05, 2012, 07:27:35 AM
When trying to run WHDload, I get errors about the kickstart file for AGA titles. I've gathered that kick40068.a1200 is the 3.1 kickstart.
I have 3.1 ROMs in my machine, so whats the simplest software to grab the image from my own machine?

Thanks in advance

Or you can use ROMripper from Remus package.
I made an archive with only the command and the readme which you can get here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/939939/ROMripper.lha

If you put it for example on C: the only thing you need to do is open a CLI and run:
Code: [Select]
C:ROMripper RAM:MyKick.rom F8 512K... and you're set :)

I think BlizKick-package (http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/BlizKick) includes SaveROM that I've always used.

Correct, just download it, the law doesn't care how you get a digital copy of what you already own.

(before anyone says anything about torrenting, even then they would need to prove a leacher from you downloading doesn't own said KS version)

given I have a real 1200 I don't have any ill will about downloading the ROM I already own anyways, and I had done so, but it turned out to be a wrong image (propably a 3.0 ROM).

Grabkick was super easy and that worked, thanks!
