The prefs folder is nearing completion, the whole system replacement set is around 60% complete.
The final package will contain around 500 icons + filetypes.
If you guys have any suggestions or remarks, speak out :-)

Yes, I'm waiting for a good collection with custom amiga icons too, and i can't be bothered to just settle with some KDE stuff, but this looks very good!
if you ask me, change the INPUT.png though! That's not a very nice looking mouse :)

By the way, what patch do you use to get those nice window borders and
gadgets.
I've tried some patches before, but none of them liked high end
Amigas. But, it might have changed. Time flies!

Cool! I tried Visual prefs many years ago but throwed it out because
it had poor RTG support. I guess it has changed.

They look fantastic, however i do have some suggestions.
1) The question mark's look a little big. I cant quite see the printer behind the big quesiton mark.
2) Also, there's a lot of icons with monitors in them. Maybe the patterns icon could instead be several patterns cascading over each other at an angle like i've seen in some of your icons before.
3) also im not sure what your using for the input icon :/ looks like a hard drive or zip drive or something ? Ohhh, its a mouse :) Good idea :) forget what i said.
Damn they look good. Do you basicly get these pictures of websites or do you scan them or draw them from scratch? :)

It's a Sony usb mouse with integrated Memory Stick reader/writer :-)

Yes, I would like to make some remarks. It is morally and legally wrong to download photos or any other graphics from websites (or other sources) and re-use them in your own work. Even if you are making this work available _for free_, you MUST NOT DO THIS unless you have permission from the authors. Period.
I just don't understand how anybody can be so disrespectful regarding other people's copyrighted work just for 2 minutes of "fame" on a website. If you want to be respected, respect the work of others.
Regarding that badly ripped MorphOS window skin that can be seen on your screenshot, I hope you own a valid copy of MorphOS and are not using it illegally.
P.S. The icon set does not look bad. I would probably be able to enjoy it if "restore2003" had actually done it all by himself.

he never have seen MORPHOS , and he made thoose skins afaik , and he have had it a long time.
oh and how can you call him a ripper? , i belived mui on morphos had a new version which made it easier to skin up like his skin right there, but he use visual prefs..
man i dont see how you can be so lame here, oh and please SHOW me the link you are talking about so i can download theese skins myself and see what your point is..
(i doubt its 2 minutes work in mui/vp)

so do you want to continue here? , shall we jump on people if they use a background image someone else has made and he forgot to say who made it? , shall we attack people who has an ANR / ampilifier skin on a wb grab without telling who made it? , are you paranoid jeep?

neo: VP always worked good with rtg but it was badly documented how to get it working properly, but theese days its pretty simple , but it eats alot of rtg mem so i dont use it... for now :)

why you make a big deal out of this? cant you understand why im doing this?
The amiga community is here to help eachother and do its best for it to prosper.
So im converting mac icons, resizing, recolouring, mixing different templates together, its just as hard and boresome work as drawing them from scratch.
Im not taking credit for this package and i never will, i just want to have these icons on a real computer where they deserve to be, and share them with permission with you guys.
2 minutes fame my ####### ass! :-)

Whats the big deal about the morphOS skin? You can find it on Aminet :-? And its only a temporary skin im using for myself, no skins will be released with this pack, so enough...

anyway restore allready said its and icon pack oh and he have showed the window vp settings for the last 2 months? in every screen grab he have shown, i find it really weird that first now its such a big problem, and last i heard morphos wanted to be like aos , and now aos users does abit of the same and gets slaughtered....jeez ..

NOTICE: if i am to upload a screengrab in the future, must i then tell everyone who made everyicon and every skin? , must i tell who made all the apps aswell? , please clear this up and post it as a news item.

Everybody is free to make a new skin from scratch which looks similar to MorphOS skins. Simply "stealing" a MorphOS skin and changing a few pixels is illegal, however. If you own a valid copy of MorphOS and do this on your home machine, this is fine. But as soon as you distribute this work, things get very serious.

It is NOT freely downloadable. There once was a VisualPrefs skin on AmiNet which was based on ripped graphics, but this was removed very soon after it had been uploaded.

It does in no way look as good as the original window skin. You simply cannot take the MorphOS skin and try to make it work on the old AmigaOS. The skinning system of MorphOS is quite a bit more complex than what you can do with the current releases of VP/Birdie. The "AnuFerox" skin that was uploaded to Aminet was a "nasty hack" which I personally would have never released. It simply looked unfinished and provisoric.

No you can not. AmiNET doesn't endorse distributing stolen copyrighted work.

Guys, seriously, have i in any way said i would release this `%/#&%(#" skin? Do i have to repeat myself over and over??? This skin is for personal use ONLY, that is NOT illegal in any way.

Good intentions are no excuse. Imagine someone takes a number of scene demos, rips the graphics, songs and disassembles big parts of the code. Then he takes all these elements from different demos and randomly merges them together into one new demo which he releases without asking the original authors to the public under his own demogroup label. Even though this person might argue "But I have only done this, because there are not enough 68K Amiga demos anymore and I wanted to give all Amiga fans out there something to watch", it should be quite obvious that this would be one of the biggest signs of disrespect towards the original creators.
Positive intentions would in now way be an excuse for this type of behaviour.
The amiga community is here to help eachother and do its best for it to prosper.

No personnal insult intended, but if you had really drawn a bunch of icons from scratch you would not dare to say this ever again. If it really would be the same work, I wonder why you did not create a new, fresh icon set for AmigaOS which only includes your art... I mean, it's the same work, right?

haha this is so funny , everyone who wants to make a screengrab theese days must "check with the authors" before uploading the picture..
and the fuzz about the icons? , ok i am sure this is where you blue trolls will say "theese are MOS icons" or?..
i am really getting annoyed here , he showed a grab and now he is questioned! , and the grab was about the icons but everyone gets upset because of a VP skin he have which he downloaded from AMINET , maybe someone needs to loosen up?
maybe the blue trolls aint the WORLD OF AMIGA judges afterall? , infact that vp skin looks OK and yes its a copy from the morphos design but where in the world does it say that IF YOU COPY then use for personal use and DONT show it in a screenshot anywhere? , btw how does MORPHOS gow with this based on "we took what amiga had and made morphos , and we changed and made alot of cool stuff and we fixed alot more also and its better than any amigaos ever will be" RIGHT?
yes this is comments we amiga users hear alot, so please tell me, is morphos for PRIVATE use only?
and andreas , where did you get the idea to mix in "The demo scene" into this?..

Im am making an icon pack for the amiga, made by different authors, and its going to be released when i have got the permission from them.
This was the intention from the start, and still havent changed as of today.

If there is a troll here, it certainly is not blue.
I replied to obviously bogus "Whats the big deal about the morphOS skin? You can find it on Aminet", which is not true. It's not available in aminet because it was illegaly using copyrighted material.
There is no conspiracy, I just pointed out the facts.
You should perhaps take a break and think before posting, as some of this "blue troll" crap is quite offending.

about the skin , i give a rats ass and i belive him that he downloaded it from aminet , i know others have done the same so.
but the real thing here is, this thread is about ICONS and not the mos copy vp skin, i dont use VP even and i wont ever again but i am sure that this is the same point of thing as the MOS icons on aminet aswell (which also was removed when powericons came)..
so all in all, i wont go away or stop posting.
the skin is maybe removed from aminet but he found it on aminet , so he cant use it for screengrabs anymore? , was every downloader notified about this?.
i feel that this "nitpicking" has gone too far and been going on too long, and if its "just" now that people got upset with getting called "blue trolls" well then i would for sure keep out of ann.lu.

The skin was available under the name "anuferox" for visualprefs.
