dear amigans:
I need to transfer sounds from a pc cd to my amiga.
It is so I can use the sounds in my amiga animations.
I use moviesetter, and it only reads IFF sounds.
The audio files on the pc cd read as CDA files or cd audio.
Is it possible to convert these sounds to IFF format for my
amiga ?
And how do I do it and what do I need ?
Your help will ensure beautiful amiga animations with sound.
Thank you !!!

http://sox.sourceforge.net/
May work for you, I used it ages ago but use DBPowerAmp on the PC side now.

There's also a GUI for Sox on Aminet, which makes it much easier....

Hi rednova, I was just wondering if you have sorted this out now?

Dear Cammy:
Thank you for asking.
I haven't tried SOX yet, but is possible it might do what I need.
I appreciated all responses.
I can probably be able to transfer the sounds.
Thank you all !!!

Good to hear, rednova! Also, tho, don't quote me on this, I thought Asimware CDFS 3.10 could rip CDDA tracks on the miggy, then be converted to .IFF from there, but not too sure...
My sound conversion needs are a tad simpler, usually .WAV to .IFF.... so, I never really need to mess with CDDA too much....

You can use some free PC program to convert and cut/edit these cd formats file and with the file to wav use some Amiga program.
