Title: You own the ORIGINAL but don't have the manual...
Post by: Cyberus on January 08, 2004, 10:39:04 PM
In the last few days, I've been trying to unwind in the evening by getting out the odd Amiga game that I'd acquired in a job lot of Amiga stuff last year (I rarely play computer games these days)
I noticed Settlers, "Ah, I thought, I remember playing the demo for hours when I was 14, I'll have to give that a go". So I put the disks (originals) into the Amiga...and it asks me for copy protection...the problem being I don't have the manual .
Just now I put a Worms CD into the CD32 I acquired a few weeks ago....it asks me for page blah blah. I have the CD jewel case, but not the manual. So, are these games useless?
And similarly, for some games I appear to have the manuals but not the disks. Now if I'd acquired cracked games in with the Amigas I'd bought. I would've been okay

 :-(

A WHDLoad install of the games should help a bit. Many of the installs have copy protection removed, but it's faulty in a few games (Kyrandia, for one). I'm pretty sure Settlers works.
