Have an opportunity to pick up a Canadian CD32 with a bunch of games (about 20 or so, some unopened) for $200. Is this a good deal or should I pass?
Thanks.

Seems expensive to me. You can get a new, FPGA Amiga for that money, wich is faster and more reliable than an aging CD32 (cd-rom units are prone to fail).
Most games, if not every CD32 game you'll ever play, are direct untouched conversions from Amiga 500 games, some with very little added value.
So I'd save those 220$ for something like the Minimig or FPGA Arcade.

Bit harsh. Your not going to get Microcosm on a 500

Both of my CD32 units still work fine after all these years. 20+ games on CD, hmm.... It's not a bad deal IMHO but it all depends on what your after, FPGA is better in some ways but genuine Amiga hardware and original CD's have collector appeal.

Hmm, I've never had issues with my CD32, and it's seen A LOT of use... it was my dad's 'CD-Player' for a few years, LOL!
Well, the price may be a bit high, but I like the CD32.. and there are a NUMBER of exclusives that are worth playing, IMHO...
Defender of the Crown II (it's even localised!)
Simon the Sorcerer II ('talkie' version)
James Pond II: Robocod (not much diff. from the 1200 version, but a few extra levels.,.)
my .02 bits.

If it's an NTSC unit you are going to have issues with a lot of games that were made for PAL systems. Plenty of games will still work fine though, and you can easily compile your own Amiga game collection CDs to play on them, or download one of the available collections that users have made and released over the years which have hundreds of classic Amiga games accessible from a menu. Of course if the unit is NTSC then someone might have to make a collection that only includes compatible games.
Check out how easy it is though - http://mygurumeditation.wordpress.com/cd32-toolkit-assistant-help/

I have a cd32 from the first ones and run very fine, you can play games like shadown of the beast, turrican... and many more of the classics on your cd32 from the cd compilations.
