I believe that a standard laptop cooling fan 25mm x 25mm x 10mm is the one used on BPPC cards (DC 5V), correct?
-
That sounds about right yes, at least the 25mm*25mm 5V bit... not entierly sure about the height.

The higher it is the better cooling it directs to the target! :-) Ideally I'd want a 20mm height, but it's OK at 10mm I guess. :-)

No. It's 30mm x 30mm 5VDC. Mine was 6mm high. This is what phase5 fitted anyway. The model was a AD0305LX-K70 Hypro from ADDA USA - see the specs (http://www.addausa.com/specifications/dc_fans.pdf).
As you might guess my fan died recently. I pondered about fitting a larger fan, but it's such a tight fit, I decided to cut my losses and buy a fan of the same size for some extorniate amount of money :-) The model I chose has about twice the airflow, yet only uses a tiny amount of extra power compared to the original fan. And I bought it from Farnell - code 371-9844 (http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/catalog/viewproductdetails.jsp?prodId=3719844).

if anyone finds a cheap source for these fans please let me know :-)
