I would like to prepare a 128MB compact flash (to use in the nearby future on a real Amiga with an IDE->CF adapter) using WinUAE.
I have selected (in WinUAE) "add Hard Drive" and then selected the Compact Flash, but nothing comes up win Winuae once Workbench loads from an HDF file with Workbench in it.
Am I missing something? Cheers!

Run WinUAE as admin, through right click menu, add the hdd and if your wanting to format then make sure it's set to IDEO as the controller so the HDToolbox picks it.
Is there an OS already on there? Also remember to set any partitions to a max transfer of 0x1fe00 and hit return. Otherwise you will run into issues on a real Amiga. I would also reccomend doing a clean of the card using diskpart before doing anything else with it.

Where do I do that please? Cheers!

It's done in either HDToolBox or HDInstTool (this tool needs downloading from http://www.classicamiga.com/content/view/5006/175/ or from aminet) and it's in partitions then advanced options on the partition screen. Make sure that there are only two 00's on the end otherwise it will cause bad block and read issues.

Ok, this morning I would like to do something else. I want to create a 10GB .HDF file in SFS file system.
In WinUAE I have created Amiga.hdf file (10GB) as SFS and I can see the icon in Workbench (always in WinUAE of course). I have tried to format it using SFSFormat but I get this error:
Error whilte initializing the drive: packet request type unkown
Have I missed something, somewhere?
Thanks!
