Title: Apollo 1240 Black screen :(
Post by: dougal on December 19, 2011, 04:05:08 PM
My A1200 was working fine.

Today i installed my scanmagic and it worked fine and then froze.

Now it either wont boot or else very few times boot and then freeze.

When i remove the accelerator it works fine.

WHat could be wrong? A1200 with Apollo 1240 powered with an A500 PSU.

I tried another PSU from an A600 (i dont have another A500 one) but it still refuses to work.

I tried reseating the ram on the accelerator and tried booting with no fastram.

Have you tried booting it with the hard drive disconnected and checking to see if the board shows up in early startup ? It could be that the A500 supply you have been using is giving up as the 040 draws a fair bit.
I had the same board but at 25mhz and when my Goliath power supply went belly up I tried an A500 power supply but it was a no go with everything plugged in.
