No silly offers as I have lost my job 2 weeks before Xmas and it's for coding up some new games ta.
:)

Good luck finding one of those.
I've been looking for one for my A500 for over a year.
Only found 1 on ebay and it sold way out of my price range.
Good luck in finding another job. It's tough out there right now.

Might this work?

Indeed, speak to Mika - that works wonderfully in Amiga 1000s providing you get the right version :D , and providing you're running either Kickstart 2.05 in hardware, or kickstarting a modified 1.3 which includes the scsi.device patch....
The only issue is size and location of the header for IDE.

Is he still selling these? He should have a store website for his projects, or have one of the existing Amiga online stores stock a bunch of his items to sell.

Why don't you ask him - member mrmkl or: E-mail: mika.leinonen"at"tut.fi, where "at" is @

I already sent him a message, but thought someone here might know if he is still selling them.

Thanks everyone. I can softboot KS2 but no ROM board upgrade, still on WOM system and boot disk for cold boots. This OK?
I would also like one if he is still selling them.

Last I knew, which was fairly recently, Mrmkl only had a couple left from parts he scrounged or leftovers from repair jobs. I did *not* have good luck using one of his boards in an A1000 though. Softkicked using 3.1 either. No go. AFAIK, Chiark is right and you need Kickstart (w/ IDE friendly scsi.device) in ROM. Not even sure if the hack that is piggybacking a Kickstart chip and soldering its leads directly to the 68000 would work. And then there is the fact that two leads get soldered to the motherboard from the CF68kIDE card that I believe at least one of the signals is either missing or not readily available on the A1000. A500, they're both next to the expansion port, which made it a snap to install.
In any event, I had much better luck wiring up a 2091 card to the A1000's expansion port than monkeying around trying to fit Mrmkl's board in an A1000. Compact Flash port gets in the way of the internal drive too, but not a big deal if you don't mind cutting one of the sides of its bracket off.
And last I checked on Amibay, he was working on a more friendly A1000 solution, so might want to ask and see about that though for sure...

tomthul on Amibay had some CF card adapters that worked with that A1000 left. (Last I heard)
They weren't CPU plug ones tho, they were sidecar...
There's a boot disk you need to use (He even has a disk that uses KickWork to kickstart and boot and transfer the boot to the CF card hard drive to finish the boot. Works great.)
But, you need more memory for your Amiga too... I used it briefly with just 512k, and mounting the CF cards took a LOT of memory. (Percentage wise when you only have 512k)

tomthul is great, he makes great products. I got his 4MB RAM board for A500/CDTV (non autoconfig) and Zorro card adapter for A500. The zorro adapter works great with A2091 SCSI card on my A500, boots to HD with no problems in 1.3 and 2.0, 3.1 Kickstart.
