We should really upgrade to an OS4 capable system :)

And you will only gain bigger headaches: less 68k compatibility and mostly unix ports. And you will have to spend $$$ to accomplish that upgrade on still underpowered hardware. :)

I don't ever remember paying $$ for any Amiga. I always payed $$$ or $$$$

Are you referring to real Amigas or AmigaOne´s?

Never bought an AmigaOne since I thought they were way underpowered. I decided to wait for something that can play 1080p videos and have the backbone to let me play a basic game like Quake3 at at least 60fps at 1920-1080-32 resolution.
Besides, I didn't have the money. It's hard to satisfy an Amiga4000T! :)

An A4000T, that is a nice beast!
And yes, if you go that way you would have probably spent some $$$$ :)
I share your view. You should not aim any lower for a modern system.

Hi,
who needs AmiUpdate?
Have you heard of Grunch?
http://www.geit.de/deu_grunch.html
It is a package-manager for MorphOS and 68k (I do not know if the AmigaOS-Version works) that offers easy installation and is updateable (Script). I am already working on the extension of the 68k database.
I have a page where I offer a manual to update distributions like amikit.
http://www.natami-news.de/html/support.html
And I am integrating most of the downloads successful in Grunch. What do you think? So AmiUpdate is not needed anymore.
Are there files missing in my list you would like to have integrated? I will try to integrate it in Grunch then.

Tried it on my 060 Amiga1200 but it can't download anything at the moment.
EDIT: Now it's downloading. Seems great :)
*Can't find Wookiechat on Aminet
*I have Nlist 0.111 installed but it says it's outdated and downloads the same version again.

I am working on a grunch-db for 68k now (240 entrys right now, it will become estimated about 500+). In about two or three weeks I will start with testing, is anyone interested to help me there? Who wants should write me a email: olaf.schoenweiss at innovatronic dot de
New entries I have put in: lots of libraries, datatypes and MUI-Classes
I am right now integrating addons for the shell (CLI)
and next I will add Applications, Games and Utilities
