Glad to hear it. Really can't stand Apple these days. And Android annoys me also.

Too bad Windows Phone is crap, .01% of the market.
-
Says someone who clearly hasn't used it. Next thing you'll be using words like micro$oft, microshaft etc.
The war is over. We lost. Get over it.

No war, I just don't like it. I don't like mustard either.

Marketshare == best? Sounds funny coming from an Amiga user.
-
Well, that's lovely, I still don't want anything to do with it, and it can stay the hell off my desktops (*cough*windows8*cough*)

The vast majority of people don't give a **** about it. I work for one of the big US cell carriers, and sales of windows mobile phones are basically non existent compared to Iphone or Android devices.

I have a windows phone device, the HTC hd 7, can say it's alright but just alright. The live tiles thing is a nice idea but it's only recently that Microsoft has opened the api's for developers to use these funky features. The Zune music player is pretty good and I soon settled into using it. The thing that annoys me is that it insists that you connect all your contacts through their Live service. I am sure if your a heavy msn user then this would be a useful thing. But considering I only use msn once every blue moon then it's just an annoyance.
Within the next few weeks I am moving back to BlackBerry. I know people give bb phones as much stick as widows phones but I feel more comfortable on the devices. Plus I prefer the keyboard for texting and emailing.

That site didn't give the award, it was presented by knowyourmobile.com, a site that's platform agnostic.

Was forced to use Windows Mobile 6.xx - such a crap, slow as hell - reminds me how the started on PCs - probably a story of success when we look how crap evolved to something usable on PCs. Hopefully never have to use Windows on Mobiles again.

Win Phone 7 isn't all bad, but still not my cup of tea. Market share is low, but it certainly is not .01%, as 400 different mobile device market share tracker sites will tell you.

I was at the HTC Titan launch party so got to play with Win7 phone for the first time a few months ago. I have to say it does deserve some credit for not falling into the iPhone style of user interface, but as an iPhone user for the past 4 years, I found it a struggle to come to terms with, my mind doesn't flow the way Win7Phone does and I found it awkward to use.
I think it wouldn't be such a problem though, if it was your first smart phone... But without a fully mature Ecosystem, why would someone choose the Win7phone platform?
-
it's a functional OS at best.
It looks like day glo 1980's wall paper, other screens are just text on a plain background - and looks like dos. It's scroll heavy. All things i wouldn't buy a high res, high colour smart phone for.
And now they are trying to force it onto my desktop, and my xbox.

That's how I feel about Win 7 Phone handsets as well, but also like yourself I've been an iPhone user for 3+ years, so Win7 Phone seems a bit alien.
That being said, they have made great strides in regards to getting apps on the handsets, but still have low numbers (40,000 apps) compared to either Android or iOS.
I've always said the motto for Win Phone 7 handsets should be "A great first smartphone for your Grandma", lol. That being said, they are quite intuitive and simple - which is exactly what puts off power users to some degree.

I was curious and read about the Windows phone platform (even though the M$ OS on the Samsung Jack was the worst I'd ever owned) and found a concensus that if you owned a Zune HD Touch (which I do) then you had a pretty good introduction to the Windows phone.
Well, I hate the interface of the Zune Touch.
I wouldn't bet on the Windows phone platform being around in the long term, my money's on Android- and the iPhone will linger for those too independent and creative to consider anything else.
