Title: Anyone try one of these with the COCOLINO?

StarTech PS22USB PS/2 to USB Keyboard and Mouse Adapter

I would like to use a modern wireless optical mouse with my A1200 without having to rely on my subway.

All wireless optical PS2 mice I have found are 27MHZ technology.

This is the only device I have found...

That is not a wireless device?  So you are going to plug in a USB receiver for a wireless mouse and are willing to spend 80+ dollars instead of just plugging it into your Subway's USB port?  I don't understand why!  I know the Subway's USB ports are not very fast, but surely they are fast enough for mouse operations.  I have used wired mice on my A1200 through the Subway's USB ports and not experienced any problems, so I really don't understand your thinking on this one.

Do someone say wireless mouse? (http://www.youtube.com/user/NovaTheCoder?feature=grec_index#p/a/u/1/9THF92rvOhQ)

Mine uses a Microsys with a simple PS/2 to USB adapter...no need for a Subway and you can also get the scroll-wheel working in WB.

Do USB-mice connected to a Subway work on software that disable multitasking (games etc)? That would, at least for me, be a huge reason not to use a mouse connected to the usb-port.

I have made icons to activate and deactivate subway because when subway is activated (with  just a mouse) it  chews up least 15% of my CPU. I was hoping that upgrading my 030 to an 060 would decrease that percent, but it did not, so now its really using more processing power. Think about it, 10MHZ of an 060 has to be like an whole 030 going to waste. Subway is nice, but I use just it on demand.

You can't get into early boot menu and it wont work with (and in fact interferes) with most whdload games. I like my Amiga experience to be seamless and switching mice all the time is not preferred.

I have already spent $10 and $12 on wireless PS2 mice that I don't really like. Well, one I don't like and the other I never received, so I don't know if I don't like it. But I don't think I'm going to like any of the 27MHZ RF mice. They are sluggish and the range is only about 6 foot - 1.8288 meters in the stupid metric system.

And yes, at $80 its worth it as I can also use it with my minimig or if I get fpgaarcade.

Thanks,

_nate

maybe it is the usb stack eating your CPU power...
did you try with ANAIIS ?

ANAIIS is a little better as far as CPU but it does not work with any of my wireless mice. It sort of works but its really choppy to the point of being unusable.

it also suffers from the same limitations as Poseidon as far as early boot menu and games...
