Title: TOASTER RELATED HARDWARE QUESTIONS
Post by: DGB on January 08, 2004, 01:58:09 AM
Hi All,
I recently acquired an A-2000 with a Toaster 4000 that was assembled and sold by Newtek.  It has an S-VIDEO board called a Y/C PLUS made by FAROUDJA Laboratories and  It is coupled to the Toaster by two flat ribbon cables and has six S-Video connectors on it that are accessable from the back of the computer.  It goes into a Zorro slot.  I remember knowing the name of this card but I don't remember what it is or what it does.  I am thinking it is an S-Video input for the Toaster card but I don't know if it is for four inputs that correspond to the NTSC inputs on the Toaster.  If that is the case it woull need to have time base correction built onto it but it doesn't look nearly as complicated as one NTSC TBC card.  If anyone knows what the full function of this card is please tell me.  I have no documentation for it.  If anyone know of data online pertaining to this card I would also like to have the URL.

This simply allows you to input and output
SVideo signals into your Video Toaster.  It
should have 4 inputs corresponding to the
Toaster's 4 inputs and 2 Y/C outputs.  You
can still run your input through the TBC
before going into this card. There should
also be some jumpers onboard for configuring
wether you want the inputs to accept a
composite or Y/C signal, outputs are always
Y/C encoded.

You can find out more at this site under
"non-rtg video cards":

The ToasterLink card was made to allow
controlling a VideoToaster enabled Amiga
from a Mac AFAIK.  I assume you need some
kind of software on the Amiga and Mac sides
to make this possible.

I'm looking for information and wiring diagrams to connect the VT, 2 TBCIVs, a PAR and a VScope (VM-2000). These are all being installed into an CBM Amiga 3000 Tower. I have the Manuals for everything but the VScope and another card that I have identified as a Horita BSG. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the DPS Vectorscope card, software and  manuals.  The other card I can't help you with as I am not familiar with it.  You can write to me at dgboley@pvpmedia.com and we can discuss the specifics if you like.  I can probably attach the software to an email for you if you don't have it.  Of course you may or may not have issues regarding transferring it to suitable media so you can install it.  As for the card's operation, I can explain that  too.

Hi DGB

FAROUDJA is the best Company for this kind of gears.

Theyr enviroment, are Y-C/YUV converters, S/N enhancers and lines duplicators for videoprojectors

The best professional VCR internal S/N enhancers (from S-VHS to the top) are made by them. (JVC BRS822 and some Panasonic)
