Hello there, AmigaKit guys!
I've got several products from you in the past (like my Minimig + memory expansion, A1200, etc), and this one looks very tempting!
But I have some questions before I fall for it:
-Your specs page says it displays at 60HZ or more: is it unable to display PAL-50HZ games then? Most C64 & Amiga games are 50HZ after all. I have several monitors supporting Minimig 50Hz modes, so it's possible to display those modes on modern LCDs as you already know ;)
-How well does it simulate SID? Does it include filters?
-Does the Amiga beta core have a joystick emulation mode with keyboard?
That's all, folks.
-
Does it output 8-bit video, 16-bit video or 24-bit video?
-
Hi, look in the next blog.
All the answers.

I found a lot of good infos. Thanx :)
But I could not find any info about the video output bits. :(
-
I also read that group, but I didn't find any clear answers to my questions either.
It seems "there's frame conversion", so it seems 50HZ games are displayed at 60HZ with tearing (not matching framerate/screenrefresh) wich is not what I want.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@Gaula92
In one of his messages, Jens states that there is no smooth 50hz to 60hz conversion and there is no flickerfixer either. Both for the same reason: There is not enough bandwidth available in the design.
I have 3 1084S monitors sitting here so I have no 50hz problems. :) WOOPS! The Chameleon hardware promotes the video output to 31.5 Khz so I can't use my 1084S monitor with it unless there is a way to disable the promotion.

But I DON'T WANT a conversion: I want 50HZ VGA modes :) , just like the Minimig does.
I'm still confused: Is there 50HZ for PAL games? I don't mind about framerate conversions, I want the original framerates (at 31Khz, just like the Minimig once more).

No one has tried this Chamaleon C64 & Amiga with native video output at 50HZ?
All I need is to confirm it's smooth-scroll capable when running PAL games/demos at 50HZ...

Hi,
I had planned to spend some time with Jens discussing the Chameleon.
However never got time at replay 2011. I have started playing around with Chameleon myself, so I will talk to Jens and find out for you.

Hey thanks! Keep me informed :)

@F0LLET: Did you find out if the Chamaleon offers smooth scroll in PAL games with a 50HZ video mode? You have one yourself, if I got you right, so it's a matter of seconds to test :)

Chameleon in C64 mode outputs a totally async picture at the moment. To reduce tearing effects, the framebuffer uses double-buffering. However, perfect scrolling can only be achieved if the TFT supports VSync display, or if a CRT is used.
The Amiga mode is based on Minimig. It has a sync output, so scrolling is perfect. Again, a flat screen must support VSync mode, which is usually a gamer's feature. Look for a monitor like that, and you'll have as smooth scrolling as you are used to from CRT screens.

Hello Amigakit.
Will you offer replacement breakout cables (IEC/PS2/USB) for Chameleon ?
-
I'd love to know details of what this cartridge does when plugged into the C64.
-
@AmigaKit: Can I assume I'll get smooth scroll in Amiga mode in the same monitor where I get smooth scroll in a Minimig 1.1 board? (The one sold by you)

bump!
