I started my winUAE thread here (different issue now):

And then relaized there was a software section...anyways, to make a long story Short, I have AmigaOS3.9 running in WinUAE and all seems well EXCEPT..I have crappy video resolution. As a result, I have tried to install the Picasso96 video driver based on this tutorial:

Anyways, I follow the instructions, the install seems to go fine BUT, I never get the resolutions that the author shows in his screenshot, the install does not seem to take effect. Any suggestions, I am using a WAY newer version of WinUAE than the author, so this could bepart of the problem. As well, I did indeed do some reading, and some suggest that one needs to add the RTG graphics card feature with at Least 2MB of ram, ALAS, all of the RTG options are greyed out, even when my AmigaOS WinUAE machine is not booted, so any suggestions with this as well would be greatly appreciated.
And since, I'm on a roll, I have one last question...performace...I'm not sure my WinUAE performance is up to par...I am running WinUAE on a intel Core2 with 4GB of ram...and to me it seems like my winUAE AmigaOS3.9 machine *SHOULD* be faster..however, keep in mind I haven't used a real Amiga since the late 80's, and my preception of *PERFORMANCE* could be REALLY distorted...any performance tweek suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well none the less ;)

Never mind I dug a little deeper. Turn of 24 bit addressing, and then turn up the RTG settings, works like a charm ;)

Yep, Picasso96 makes a massive difference in WinUAE, since a lot less work is required of the host PC when the native graphics chips aren't used. I would check as well that you have the Fastest Possible speed set, as using the cycle-exact timing will cause the emulated CPU to wait for the emulated chipset. Some games will need this setting, but for Workbench use it's far better to use as little chipset emulation as possible...

You need to run the OS3.9 installer again to install the internet software separately - it's not installed by default IIRC. TBH you'd be better off downloading AWeb APL and whatever else you want separately, as most things have been updated a lot since 3.9 was released. Don't forget to turn on bsdsocket.library emulation in WinUAE!
To change the background, look in SYS:Prefs/WBPattern...

To change your backdrop just go to sys: prefs/wbpattern.
(sys: being the drive/partition/whatever that amigaos is installed to. Normally there'd be no space between sys: and prefs, but I typed it that way 1st and ended up with a smiley where ": P" would be)

Hey Guys!!! Thanks for all your help to date, did something fun:
1. Installed WinPCap
2. Went to Genesis, Started GEN Pref Wizard, specified SANA II device as, uaenet.device, then configured a seperate IP for the WINAUE amiga machine
3. I'm on the internet and the network as a Virtual Device, seperate from my windows machine..yay.
What boing bags do I need installed to run Orign web browser...someone also suggested this, in a previous post here (It says there is a special boing bad to run OWB):
I'm new is it an updated browser?

No idea what youve been told, but there's no special boing bag required for OWB.
Also, bare in mind that 68k OWB is, at best, brutally raw. Its too slow on anything but amithlon, and even then its only usable once pages are fully loaded. There's no real browser to speak of with it, but its rendering engine is based on Webkit.
Any screenshots you see of it are probably for Morphos, OS4, or AROS versions.
The only dependencies Im aware of that it has are SDL and possibly ixemul.
Unfortunately OS3.x has no particularly good browsers. Netsurf isnt quite as raw as OWB, but it's still kinda rough around the edges and lacks javascript, IBrowse has quite a nice browser, but the rendering engine is about a decade old (for the most part), AWeb is much the same, only with not as nice a browser, and Voyager is somewhere inbetween then 2.
One almost essential tool for amigaos is snoopdos. It'll tell you what libraries, etc. are missing when software fails.
