We have now updated our hard disk drive package (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=883) for the Amiga 1200, 4000 and 600. Preloaded with AmigaKit OS-Install software, the hard drive is ready to go once installed inside the Amiga.

It is silent, low power and fast alternative to a conventional hard disk drive.
It is ready-to-go: we supply it partitioned and fully formatted. The drive is preloaded with our exclusive AmigaKit.com OS Install program which allows you to quickly install Workbench with the minimum of hassle. Directory Opus 4.16 GPL is preloaded onto the hard disk for easy file management. The Amiga's premier game installer, WHDLOAD (unregistered version) is also pre-installed with kind permission from the author.
Amiga 1200 / 600 version supplied with CF media, 44-way IDE cable and adapter board, ready-to-go. Amiga 4000 / 4000T version supplied with CF media, 40-way IDE cable and adapter board, ready-to-go. You can also specify the IDE cable length that is supplied with the hard drive below. Picture for illustration purposes only- actual make/model may vary.
This drive is formatted with the normal FastFileSystem. If you have an A1200 / A4000, you can request us to have the drive pre-formatted for SmartFileSystem - we do not charge any extra for this service.
Compatible with Kickstart 2.05 (37.300 or 37.350), Kickstart 3.0, Kickstart 3.1, Kickstart 3.5 or Kickstart 3.9.

No PFS 3 option?
Remeber it is free now, and much better than SFS in many aspects.
-
I was going to say the same thing.
Nearly all my drives at home now use PFS.

Great work amigakit

I agree, its a great filesystem.. only issue i have with CF drives is i like the sound of a hard drive whizzin..
-
If we are legally permitted to distribute it with our hard disks, we are happy to offer PFS as another option for customers.
Most of our customers have requested SFS2 or FFS

Newbie question coming up but....
What disks do I need to get workbench installed on this. I kind find the install disk for my a1200 and my 600 only has the standard disks with no install disk.
-
You do not need the original Install disk - we supply our own AmigaKit OS-Install with this drive. It is ready to go
Just insert your Workbench disks and follow our setup wizard which will guide you through the process.

-
Yes we accept Paypal- thanks.

Man, I really wish someone would design an accelerator/cf HDD package for the A500? That's the only machine I have left, Amiga-wise, the only one I'd ever seriously need now and they're a dime a dozen practically.

I'm not holding my breath..... not that I don't believe in Jens, 'cos I do. It's just something that should have been done a decade ago....
