Interesting, in a very negative kind of way.  The people on SlashDot just don't get it.  I tried to explain to them, but I know I was wasting my time ;-)

They seem to get it just fine. Underpowered, overpriced, feature lacking, buggy and an OS that isn't modern.

Heh, to be fair Slashdot has fallen a lot from its' days as a very valuable resource for techies, so I am not surprised no one "gets" it.  I find Reddit far more useful than Slashdot lately, and it's just essentially a general news site.  Digg has gone down the crapper as well.

Sadly most of these social media type sites lately are terrible, unless it's Apple related most people pay it no mind :/

That's why I stopped reading slashdot a while ago, most of them just say "Amiga is dead, buy a PC" whatever the Amiga news that was posted...

It used to be news for nerds but now its news for snobbish nerds :)

also mentioned on OSnews:

That osnews is probably more friendly to AmigaOS.

So in other words, they, and you, don't get it.

Apart from a few holdouts, most people here have PC's or Macs either as our primary machines or as the "workhorse", and so while it'd be fantastic to have an Amiga that is competitive again, this is a hobby - normal considerations does not apply.

Then again, whining about it is a hobby to a lot of people here too, I guess.

So go get an Amiga, but the X1000 has absolutely nothing to do with that.
