Title: AGA verses non aga comparisons?
Post by: haywirepc on October 15, 2011, 12:37:08 AM
Is there a website which post screen shots comparing AGA versions of games with non AGA versions of games that were made for both chipsets?

Can someone tell me how many more colors or what the differences are specifically between games made for both chipsets?

Steven

Yes there is. Go to Lemon Amiga and they always do reviews on all versions of a particular game. For example the different versions of Zool and Chaos Engine.

In general, AGA will support up to 256 colours, though not all AGA games use the full thing.

The entire pallette is much larger too, so potentially more choice in colours.

In general, I find AGA games are a bit more colourfull but it's sometimes a subtle difference.

Right. Most "aga" games are just ports from the OCS A500 with gimics put in to try and make them marketable as new games. They put things in like "cd quality sound", "AGA graphics" that were just a different colour scheme anyway. I think in my opinion the game that best makes use of the AGA chipset is Banshee as i'm pretty sure it was made especially for AGA as there was never an OCS version.

Banshee is simply amazing! But is there any real difference between the CD32 and AGA versions? Please tell...

Look at those graphics :)
