I have always like the name Workbench - it's a sold name for an OS.
But i was wondering what it would be like if my Amiga was Actually a bench or a table or something else..?
I'd like to have my Amiga turned into a talking table - with a traditional teak wooden finish.
I mean a 'talking' Amiga would be better. That way you could discuss the days latest events over a cup of tea:) - like 'What's the latest news?' and Amiga says - 'Hold on Dave, i'll just check the web pages'
I know this is a hypothetical question but perhaps somebody out there has made Amiga furniture?

Is there any part of you that wants to say something positive?

Mine is currently a stand for my LCD. :D But that's because I'm at work, and not sitting at home playing on it!
I'm waiting for my second LCD stand if Pyromania can work through the shipping disaster that it has become. I thought we were through that phase (I still remember trying to order Lords of Conquest and Racing Destruction set for my Atari 8-bit. I think it took 3 months for Lords of Conquest to arrive, but Electronic Arts kept saying that Racing Destruction Set was out of stock, we never did get the original of that game, we ended up pirating it!
So remember when people complain that the platform died because of all the piracy, just think that distribution channels through piracy were better than the retail chains! I think my older brother managed to get that game from a 'copying party' people remember those? Pre- modem days!

Haha until we have an x64 native version of AOS there's little to be positive about IMO.

FPGA Replay is positive for AmigaOS. For x86-x64 junk there is FreeBSD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeBSD) .. ;)
How about a beige soffa with pillows as keys and the vents as backrest? dunno if floppy- or expansionport works as bent up armrests?

Probably some kind of BDSM furniture.
Often painful, can't find it everywhere and it's an expensive fetish. As much as I probably should, I just can't get away from it.
Either that or a beanbag chair.

a sofa because I always feel 'at home' using my Amigas:)

I think the problem here is actually, someone lacking a sense of humour!

ZX81 is a DOORSTOP, and I might add, a very good one.:roflmao:

Now you've gone and made me think about putting a steam-punked Amiga in a Victorian style writing bureau. That would be cool, I would have to play Chaos Engine and Banshee again (as if an excuse is needed).

I had an A600 which I built into a drawer in my desk back in my parents' place. It was totally hidden away and ran 24/7, controlling my lights, stereo, blinds etc. via IR remote control and some software timers. Man, I started that project 13 years ago!!

A comfortable old recliner.. its taken a beating, its got some squeaks and creaks and in some cases its not the prettiest thing but its always there to welcome you.

My Amiga furniture would be a well broken-in comfy recliner with duct tape covering the tears in the upholstery and a stack of RKMs replacing a broken leg. ;-)
Mechy: posted before reading your post.... GMTA ;-)

Well, it explains why they turn yellow.

Tone007, that's more or less what I had in mind by an Amiga table, Great stuff! :)
But i might still have gone for a wooden table. Otherwise, the comfy reclining armchair that some of you have mentioned is next best choice for me and of course a programme which selects drinks and from a menu, and robotically delivers them from a drinks cooler. And well... In that case, may as well go for an automated Amiga drinks cabinet, which would be quite viable :)

My A2000 actually is used to raise my monitor which i use for my consoles and my A1200. The A2000 is almost never used because it needs tlc.
