Recently I have been getting "The DHCP server refused to renew the lease on your IP address" about 3 or 4 min. after starting IBrowse.
MiamiDX is in WB-startup and is set to go online at bootup, but doesn't give this requester until I actually start IBrowse and go to my homepage.
It only does this one time, and I don't have the problem until the next cold boot.
I remember this being discussed, but can't remember where.
Anybody remember the fix for this?
-
Uhm....can you give more info about your network setup? Or is this a known MiamiDX bug?
-
@ Oden
"is this a known MiamiDX bug?"
-------------
From what I remember; It is not a bug, just a setting in MiamiDX that needs to be set.
I just can't remember which setting.
-
It's a known bug of MiamiDX - it can't renew permanent leases. It happens to me if I set my router's lease to "Permanent" - setting it to two weeks fixes it.
I don't know why IBrowse seems to be triggering it, though...
-
Its a known bug, you need to set your router to never renew the lease or set it to renew at 999999999 mins/hours. If you dont have a router get one. Its saves a lot of grief.

@Fade
Nice Avatar Fade, Semper Fi. Best Regards....Art

Thanks KennyR & Acill
Setting my router properly seems to work.
---------
Back at you Artman, but the way we used to say it; "All the Way".
-
Well. I thought that fixed it, but it didn't.
I have now set the Linksys router from two days to two weeks, but the problem still shows up.
Does anyone remember the MiamiDx setting thing?

I just had the same problem today, all I did was go round the DHCP range of my router...
My router uses the ip addresses of 192.168.1.100 through to 150 for DHCP, so all I did was set my IP to static and set it to 192.168.1.151, works a treat.
-
Setting to static does work for some too. Ever since I told my router to not renew the lease I havent had a problem though. I'll post the settins for DHCP I use in MiamiDX when I get home from work for you to take a look at.

Thanks, this old thread just helped my from going crazy. Problem solved.
