Title: Updating Amikit
Post by: OlafS3 on September 26, 2011, 09:42:05 AM
Hello,

I looked at different distributions and updates and found Amikit. I think it is a great piece of software and i have started to update it (hope it might be useful for Natami and FPGA Arcade).

Is there anyone interested to help? I want to create a installer that is based on the last official version. What should i integrate?

You should integrate TLSFmem and PFS3 if they have not already been integrated.

When was AmikitOS last updated?

I would add
new SimpleMail,
NetSurf,
update AmigaAMP ,
assign  sslroot: to where you extracted openssl  1.0.0a for https:// in NetSurf,
set NetSurf as default browser in OpenURL.

Well they still had an engine upgrade in Dec. 2010. http://amikit.amiga.sk/index.php#news
But you can always update to the latest version of winuae yourself: http://www.winuae.net/files/WinUAE2330.zip

Amikit does not appear to be abandoned to me.  If I were the person that had spent years of my time putting together Amikit and someone else came along and used all of my hard work and the work of others that I had spent so much time making relationships and agreements with for parts of it, I would not be happy about it.

Have you even tried to contact the author of Amikit?

You could integrate the Operating System files from the 3.9 CD along with a Kickstart 3.1 ROM and I will gladly host it on my Iranian server.
