Well I got an Amiga 3000 a while back. Trying to remember how these old dogs work. Trying to get my old BBS to work. I found a backup from many years ago. All seems to function until the BBS reachs a certain place in logon. I think its looking for an AREXX script and locks up.
I am sure the AREXX scripts are there for the BBS but unsure if AREXX is running properly on the 3000 itself.
Wondered if some one could tell me a command or places to look on the HD and what to look for to see if AREXX is properly installed. I did not get any system disks with this system so I am kinda stuck if its not all there.

Search for "rexxmast", or just type it in a shell (if it is in the path).
If ARexx is allready running it will output:
"REXX server allready active!"
Meaning all is o.k.

And if not, you need to start it...

That took care of the arexx issue. It was not running. Thanks for the info!
Its been too many years!

If you put Arexx in your WorkBenchStartup dir
It will start automaticly when you bootup.
Arexx is always running on my A3k.
BTW what BBS are you running??

Sorry .. I can't help you with that.
I ran Excelsior for a few years .. I have on
occasion though about going on line again
but with the net it just doesn't seen worth the
investment. If you are going to have links to
the net you should post them here.

I will post here as soon as I get the BBS up and running. I hope it will get used like the old days! I hd a lot of fun on the BBS's.

Does anyone now if rexx for Windows works like Arexx? Would be nice if you could make Windows a little bit user (read hacker) friendlier.
Arexx is great even if I rarely use it.
