Title: Amiga 550
Post by: RobertB on September 23, 2011, 08:04:03 PM
While cruising to the HCC Commodore website ( http://commodore-gg.hobby.nl/ ) to look for news, I read about the Amiga 550, a new project!  The direct link to Amiga 550 information is at

How nice to see something new with the name "Amiga" that actually is an Amiga!
Thanks for the heads-up!

That's nice... there is/was a similar project but by someone else, but with a 68030 as standard.

Do you have any links to that project?

A500 ++ Prototype (http://amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53013)

A1000 motherboard (http://www.gb97816.homepage.t-online.de/a1kboard.htm) using 68030? and buy thread (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=36626)

All these projects are nice, but rely on a supply of custom chips which are non-replacable.

Yes... it's the A50++ project.
Apparently always coming from the same web site, if you read:

There is an A1000 board somewhere too.

For now, at any rate. I'm hoping Jens Schoenfeld's Clone-A will solve our supply issues at some point in the future.

If you're going to go to that trouble, then might be best to design it to fit the 500/600/1200 series.
Same board, all you'd need is some type of interchangeable rear board for the ports and keyboard adapters that can handle either.

That would be great.  ;-)
