Yes you can (although the 2nd need a 44 to 40 pin IDE cable), however you will also need a CF that precent itself as a fixed unit not a removable unit (most Sandisk should work).

Those seem horrendously expensive. Look for "CF IDE" on ebay and you'll get hundreds of items from china for less than $3.
Also stick to Sandisk; I had a small amount of grief with a Kingston card.

@ CodeHunter
Yes, those should work. I use these (http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SY-IDE2CF-NB25-Compact-Adapter-2-5-Inch/dp/B001B19HGA/) since they have the same footprint as a hard drive. The mounting holes don't align with those on the 1200's hard drive braket, though.

Always remember that SanDisk is one of the most counterfeited companys going. I have been stung in the past.

We sell complete CF IDE Kits fully prepped/parititioned and formatted. We pre-install our own OS-Install software on the hard disk for ease of setup.

Not to seem like a shill, but if I had to do it over again, I would have bought the AmigaKit one. I ended up spending more than I "saved" when I bought a generic CF adapter at Frys and a generic card. Ended up finally getting the adapter to work, once I spent more buying a SanDisk card.

I'll vouch for the amiga kit stuff. Very easy and convenient.
