So, I was browsing arstechnica.com and decided to search "Amiga", and I found this article from 2009 http://arstechnica.com/software/news/2008/09/amigaos41-ars.ars/5 ,
In this article it it claimed that AmigaOS 4 can be run on PS3 " A Hyperion developer told me that not only has the OS been run on a PS3, but they have even tested support for the seven SPU units in the Cell processor."
Does anyone can backup these claims and was actually be able to install Amiga OS on PS3?
If this is true, I would erase Linux from PS3 and install Amiga OS in no time. (I did not upgrade my PS3, so it's still on it :))

If the source was Hyperion, you should take the info with a truck-load of salt... ;)

In the chance that developers did get it running on the PS3 (unlikely, since the article is from the PS3's "pre-jailbroken" days in 2008), they'll never release it publically for some illogical business reason.

You could install Linux few days or few weeks after the PS3 was released, only recently the PS3 was locked. That's what I did.

I remember reading about it back then in 2009. Why would it need to be jailbroken. There was the OtherOS option, which is how people were able to install Linux. It got abused in attempts to jailbrake and was removed in later updates.

As I recall the story originated when one of the Freidens, I think it was Rogue made an off the cuff remark on one of the forums about wishing to experiment a bit on the PS3 and cell processor if he owned such a machine.
A few people took this out of context including Bill P who started a Bounty on his own initiative to raise funds for the PS3, which Rogue later declined to accept because he couldn't give any assurances it would lead to working port or indeed be a target system for Hyperion.
So if Rogue was saying this very publicly, I doubt very much he told the author of the article any differently.

i think this is a joke
AmigaOS 4.x have several limitations, no more than 1 core support, no nvidia drivers support, no vertex/shaders support... etc etc
