Title: 3000 and 4000 CPU poll
Post by: Heiroglyph on September 04, 2011, 06:33:38 AM
I'm interested in what CPU cards people have in their 3000's and 4000's.

Especially how many 060's and PPC's are out there and how many of us still can't get our hands on them.

They just never seem to come up for sale, so I'm curious what is out there.  1200 cards are everywhere.

BTW, please don't count the onboard 030 if you have a CPU card in it or the stack of A3640's in the closet, just your actual computers.

I have a Warpengine in my A4000. I also own a Blizzard 4030 50 MHz board and of course the 3630.
Would love to have a 060 there.

The reason no one is selling their ppc cards is that most ppl think they will get them for almost nothing.

Some of us gave a **** load of money for those cards, talking 900$ -->

I think the poll needs some extra selectable items... There seem to be quite some Apollo, WarpEngine and GVP 040 cards out there as well.

I have a CS 060 Mk2 with Cyber SCSI in my A3000. Wouldn't mind a CSPPC though.

the results don't add up. a persentage should be out of 100% no?

I have a WarpEngine 040 in my A3000 and a stock (onboard 030) A4000D. I would love to upgrade the A4000 but have never been able to find a suitable card.

I had more options at first, but I realized that for my purposes an 040 isn't an 060 or higher so it didn't really matter.

I've got one of the Quickpack 4060Ts, a Warp Engine 3040 and a Warp Engine 4040.

It's multiple choice, so the percentages will go way over 100%.

The way I look at it, any vote that isn't an 060 is potentially in the market for one like I am.

The PPC cards for these machines seem so rare that I separated them.

Like I said, the 1200 version is for sale constantly, but I never see 3000/4000 cards for sale, even 060s are few and far between.

I have three Cyberstorm PPC's, two 060 cards, an 030 card, and a 040 card.

Currently the three Cyberstorm PPC's are installed.

GVP G-Force 040 @ 28 MHz. (I've heard you can run it at 40MHz? That'd be fun to try.)

This is almost turning into a "who's hording all the 060's" thread ;)

I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale at any price.  It's a shame really, the 1200 models are everywhere.

Macrosystems WarpEngine'040
in both A3000 and A4000.

'060 would be cool, but I don't utilize the Amigas on a daily basis to warrant the cost of obtaining one.

I bought mine on Amibay about a week ago. Same guy (Fitzsteve) also has an Apollo 4060 up for sale: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=19572

They are out there, they do come up from time to time, you just have to keep your ear to the ground and you'll find one sooner or later. :)

What if the computers are stacked in a closet and the cards are in them? :p

CSPPC/060 in A4000T, CSMK2/060 in A3000.

Then you should be selling them to me! :D

Actually, I'm still waiting for my second A4000D from DiscreetFX.  I ordered one right after I bought the Video Toaster from them.  They said it should have shipped about 3 weeks ago.  Of course I'm so spoiled now with how Amazon and Newegg get their products out to people.

Man, it is SUCH a shame that nobody makes 060 or combo/ppc board anymore :(  It's ridiculous to think I'd be willing to pay upwards of a grand for a used board for outdated computing equipment :(  I must be nuts.
