Is it bizarre for one (the first one) Zorro II slot in an A2000 to go bad? And is there any way to fix it? I received an A2000 with an Oktagon 2008 hard drive card plugged into the first slot. It simply would not boot and got stuck on a gray screen. All I did was move it to slot #2 and now seems to work fine.

Dirty/loose connections are pretty common in the older systems. I'd look there first.

Yeah, I've seen many an A2000 with broken #1 Zorro slots from people mishandling cards. Broken as in they're cracked, causing a bad connection. Could have a bad solder joint there too since it's the most popular slot.

If that doesn't do it there's a logic IC with a gate for each board. A 74ls32 I believe..... might want to check that.

Also as last keep in mind the Buster 5721. I your amiga has the 5719 version you must change it.
