First of all hello to all of you!
Please i need serious help here..
this is the scenario:
Amiga 600 with 68030 w/o fpu and 32Mb of fast ram
2 megabytes chip ram
8 Gb compact flash as ide drive (with adapter of course)
Workbench 3.1 and Kickstart 3.1
the problem is i can't be able to create two partitions in the way i like.. i use SFS and created the first partition of about 1.5 gb
my intention is to create the second partition with the remaining space (about 6 gb)
problem is if i try to create a large 6 gb partition, hdtoolbox create it but when amiga restart, partition DH1:NDOS never appear..( if i try to format it with sfsformat amiga goes in guru), if i launch hdtoolbox partition dh1 is there! after many tries i found that i can create a dh1 partition but with this condition dh0+dh1 must be 4gb!! the funny thing is that a this point i can create a third dh2 partition of about 3.5 gb partition without problems!!!
i think SFS did not suffer the 4 gb limits or problem about larger partitions...
any clues?
thank you

Here's a quick walkthrough:
Run HD Toolbox and prep the card.
Now Partition the card:
a. Load the SFS file system.
b. Select 2 partitions and adjust their sizes to match your requirements.
c. For the first partition, make it bootable and change the file system from FFS (default) to SFS.
d. Click on the second partition, change the file system to SFS (make it bootable with a lower priority if you wish).
e. Save and Exit HDToolbox.
Restart the Amiga and quick format both partitions.
Consider formatting the CF card in your PC as FAT32 prior to putting it in the Amiga. I had to do this with a CF card once when my Amiga simply refused to play ball with it.

I've found PFS to work better on CF drives, I forget but in one version of HDtoolbox it identifies the DOS type wrong and that leads to issues. Just be careful, and PFS is now free so it may be worth your while.

You cannot use more than 4 GiB with SFS unless you install a special IDE driver.
Better use PFS3ds. With it you can access all the built-in IDE driver sees, which is not more than 7.8 GiB.
If you want to access more than that, you need the updated IDE driver, too.

thank you for your replies, may anyone give me a quick link to a page where i can get pfs3ds?
thank you again
@darrin tried your quick walktrhough but without success (card already formatted in fat 32 the first time i used on amiga)
still show DH0:NDOS but without showing DH1 after using hdtoolbox..
