If so, how well did they work out of interest?
-
Oi!
Toaks received them a long time ago, and he's been a bit "slow" to send them off to me so I can test them, but I've been busy with some papers and examns etc...so no rush.
But he did manage to test it and they seemed to work right, but lack of proper terminators stopped it him from testing further.
It has to be noted that the ones we got from that taiwanese ebay seller had some plastic pieces bent despite the package being proper packed.
I'm not sure how this guy had access to so many units of them, nor whether they were some sort of throw offs from a production line due to a minor mistake like the plastic.
I will report in this thread when i get them tested on my 1260 setup.
Toaks reported nearly as good datatransfers as his regular scsi drive using the adaptor, but seek times of course is very low making his boottime 3 seconds longer... but no cpu usage!
Toaks have aprox. 25-50% cpu-load on standby in Opus replacement using a power flyer, toaks received 0-10% with the adaptor...sweet!
Anyway...happy new year all!

I have a SCSI to IDE adapter in my Alpha machine, and it also works out pretty fast.
