I have both a Dual 1GHZ MDD Mac running 10.5x/MorphOS2.7 and a Mac Mini 1.5 running the same. Both of machines connect wireless to my router in another place in the house. Is it easy to plug in my Sam 440 Flex to either of these machines for internet or would it be easier do it some other way. Router is upstairs with a PC and some computers are downstairs with no CAT5 ethernet pulled yet.
Thanks,
Jeff
I suppose I probably should just run cat5 through the wall to the downstairs and do it right, but never any time.

MacOS has an option called "Internet Sharing" or the like. If you turn that on it will act as a router and will run a DHCP-server to supply your SAM with an IP-address via Ethernet. You don´t even need a crossover cable or a hub, as all macs detect the partners twist (or lack thereof) and twist themselves accordingly. Configuring the SAM to use it is easy too, so - don´t try it - do it!
EDIT: Don´t confuse "Internet Sharing" and "Web Sharing". "Web Sharing" on a Mac means that you run your own Apache to serve your own website from your Mac, which in todays world usually doesn´t help you much. I think they will drop that "Web Sharing" feature soon, if they haven´t already in Lion. (Note to self: check this when at home)

I have tried what Ismart has suggested recently and it worked fine.
You could also try something like this.

Sweet! Thank you. I couldn't have asked for an easier solution!

Finally got around to trying this and installing AmigaOS 4.1 Update 3. Not only does the internet sharing with the Mac work great, OS 4.1 seems to be WAY FASTER than I remembered it! It just flies on my Flex, at least compared to the Windows box I usually use. Thanks for the tips and great update to the OS!

I have got severakl of the power network plugs, different brand, and they work amazing. Even through extension leads. faster and more secure than wirelss and work with anything that has an ethernet port
