Title: Definitive Amiga price list - Does it exist?
Post by: Tension on July 19, 2011, 09:35:59 PM
Ignoring the fact that most Amigas sold these days come with other cards/expansions included in the price, what are the actual proper value of vanilla systems, in original factory state with no expansions & without loads of boxed games etc.

I paid £400 for my bare A4000 in 2001, which I thought was a good price.  Sometimes with all the irrational behaviour in the Amiga marketplace it becomes hard to determine an item's actual worth.

There's no such thing as an actual proper value for old Amigas, or any object really. Or rather there is. It's the price people are willing to pay for something.. If people are willing to pay 1000EUR for an A4000, good for them. I wouldn't think of paying that much for an old Amiga.

IMO. But IANAE.

Best you can do is look for what stuff tends to sell for.

My rules of thumb is about 50 bucks for a good condition 500, 600 or 2000.
About 100-150 for a 1200

Probably about 400 for a 4000.

2 dollars and a beer for an atari ST

Dont remember the last time I saw a 500+ for sale.

With some machines, its hard to find one "bare". 2000's and 3000's tend to come packed with at least some stuff included, unless the owner farmed it out on ebay already
