The one I gave away didn't boot to a screen but NO BIGGIE 'cause you just know Mechy will get it going! The one here on ebay is nice though!

I recently grabbed one of these (hasn't arrived yet) but allegedly the guy couldn't get the keyboard or mouse working. Any ideas?
-
...sounds like maybe you decided to give it away before ever checking what they go for on eBay?
How altruistic!
-
@esc
IIRC the lock on the front switches off mouse and keyboard input so it could be as simple as that.
-
Gawd... that monster looks like something off an old Dr Who or Blakes 7 set... :)
-
They really are quite heavy, and even taller than the A4000T.
I almost miss mine.
edit: strike that, I do miss it. Next one that pops up on the local Craigslist is mine!

That things so ruddy big there's probably a whole family of Gypsies living in there...

From the bottom of the bid page:
Please note: I will not lower the price on this extremely rare Amiga computer. If it does not sell this time, I will relist it two more times at the same price. If it still does not sell, then I will just keep this computer. The Amiga 3000T-040 is the rarest of all the Amiga computers that were sold ( yes, it is even rarer then the Amiga 4000T ), and less then 100 of them were produced worldwide.
DOOMY!!!!!
Yep! It's the same guy who was selling that 64/3D card a bit ago. Don't think he's going to get any bites this time around...:insane:
-
No, I knew what they go for (maybe not that much)... and how rare they are but "It's a MONSTER" of a machine. Besides, I'm still working on my other 3 machines to get them the way I want them. And after spending a small fortune on them I just didn't need another one. I even told Mechy that I might even just pull all the chips and toss it. Even thought about just nailing the motherboard to the wall here in the shop for a conversation piece. Also waiting for AmigaKit to get their Sam460EX systems in. Whoooops, there goes some more $$$ I don't really need to spend! :roflmao: I jsut thought someone else might have fun with it. Now I suppose he could turn it around for a helluva profit but who cares. He also promised to keep us updated on the fix progess. :)

I've never paid more than $40 for an A3000T, so I'm sure not gonna bid.

There was a whole family of rats taking up resident at one time! Made a helluva a mess on one of the comms boards. RAT PEE!!! EWWWWWW!!!!
-
Rats, gypsies, same diff!
-
Been thinking (ouch me brain hurts) one of them monsters would make a nice high rise apartment block for me squirrels... :)

No, Doomy would have put that he would smash it to pieces if it didn't sell. Then again maybe he's getting soft in his old age.......

Just gave one of these away! HAHAHAHA!
Then the joke is on you, Sir!

Then the joke is on you, Sir!
How's it a joke on me? Jealous? A guy gave it to me on Saturday, I checked it out on Sunday, and shipped out on Monday! Seriously, I almost just pithed it. But the Amiga Love Gods wouldn't here of it! :roflmao: Besides, Mechy turned me onto something I didn't know existed. He traded for one of these for my A590. Goodbye A590 SCSI drive!

Jealous?
LOL.
No.

LOL.
No.
Exactly.... Besides, what the hell would I do with a bunch of A3000T chips when there's less than (supposedly) 200 units in existence! :roflmao: Anyway, I'm pretty sure the problem is a bad 040 board.
Let's just cheer Mechy on! Go Mechy!

$600 for shipping to Canada!
-
Hey, I got my A3000D for free, from a post here. And undersold my A1200T that is now at 300Mhz!
:(
If you just stand around long enough, an Amiga will hit you in the head...
I think Andy Warhol once said, everyone gets a free Amiga at some point. I think he did.:)

Uh oh... that's a bad sign if your thinking like I think (not to mention pretty difficult to do), them's all the first signs of SANITY creeping in...
If you keep thinking like that there's gonna be two SANE people on this site... quick PM me your address and I'll get the SNP (Squirrel Ninja Patrol) Parachute Division to drop in with some emergency meds... :)

You know, thanks to Doomy, I would be surprised if anything Amiga sells from Oregon ever again... you just can't be sure when he'll pop back up. And where the frak does he keep coming up with this stuff, anyway? It's like he has a mine along a thin vein of Amiga.

Hey what can i say,i just can't stand to hear of broken amiga HW that could get tossed. No telling what i've gotten myself into again. I also hate to see possibly complete machines get parted out.The last basket case 3000T i fixed was from redrumloa and it was a really fun adventure piecing that machine back together(hmm did i say fun?). But i'm happy to say it was released back into the wild and someone hopefully gets good use from it.

Got it today...methinks you're right! How do I turn that thing without a key?! It's in the locked position.
And @thread - the a3000T is HUGE! ENORMOUS! It's much bigger than my power tower a4k. And it's heavy! The plastic bezel on the front is kind of shoddy...and pretty much ruined. Oh well. The thing is still rad. That battery needs to come off asap, though....looks like some damage :(

If you look through that guy's other listings, he threatens to smash up some other items. Maybe he just couldn't bear to smash up an A3000T/040.
D'you reckon he actually smashes these things up, or is it just a (really lame) marketing attempt?

Agreed: pics or it didn't happen. Does he still have a YouTube account? I'm surprised he doesn't get all pissy when something doesn't sell and put up a video, "I told them fekkers on eBay I'd smash this up if no one bought it!!"

IIRC, the key lock is a normally-open (N.O.) connection and the locked position is closed, thereby shorting the pins to affect the key lock. So, in theory simply unplugging the key connector from the header should do it. Otherwise, you can play with a jumper on the header.

Lame Marketing = +1
