Title: Prometheus and whdload
Post by: Kawazu on July 18, 2011, 10:35:09 PM
I have bough myself a probmetheus + voodoo 3 card + pci network card for my Amiga 3000T

I also have an Cyberstorm PPC 060/50 233mhz

The thing is that i used to have a Cybervision 64/3d and the whdload games ran perfect, well atlest they started.

Now when i have installed the prometheus and the voodoo 3 card most of the whdload games do not even start, they just give me a black screen. The amiga aint locking up, i can quit back to WB with F10 as i usualy do.

Some games work, like Superfrog.
When i remove the voodoo 3 card and keep the pci network card in the prometheus every thing works again. All whdload games runs great.

So how do i fix this?
I have tried searching the net but i have found nothing what so ever.
I know that i dont have a TCP/IP stack running becouse it works when i remove the voodoo 3 card.

I use WB3.9 with BB1 and 2  and WHDload version 17 beta.

There is no monitor switch on the Voodoo like there is on some CV cards, so I assume you've got another Amiga monitor hooked up to the Amiga, right?

Almost, i use a 21" Sony trinitron with dual vga inputs so i change there.

Did you stop your tcp/ip stack before running whdload games?

@Kawazu

there are some P96 ENV vars like displaychain or something like that and others to disable amiga chipset. Check out PVS at Aminet to see which variables do you have activated on your Prometheus+Voodoo

Principally Prometheus works fine with WHDLoad - My PicassoIV outputs the PAL stuff with Voodoo3 in the Prometheus.

I Do not know how to turn of the TCP/IP stack.
Should not be anything runnings, if there where it should not work when i remove the voodoo 3 card would it?

I downloaded PVS but i cant find any option in there that would help my case at all :(

Smal update: I transferd back up backup installation and whdload worked right away with the voodoo still in the machine but not configured in picasso.

But when i added the prometheus in the picasso96 and restarted the same thing started to happen again.

Have you tried setting "VoodooInt=NO" in Mediator prefs?

I also have a few packages that might help you here:

MediatorENV.lha - another Mediator preferences program, similar to MedConfig
PrometheusP96install-2.1a.lzx | Prometheus exclusice
PrometheusP96install-2.1b.lzx | P96 install packages
P96Manager_WB31.lha - Picasso96 prefs program for WB 3.1 and up (similar to PVS but better)
P96Manager_OS39.lha - Picasso96 prefs program for OS 3.9 (maybe 3.5 also, similar to PVS but better)
P96Manager_MUI.lha   - Picasso96 prefs program for MUI (similar to PVS but better)

Feel free to ask if you need any of these :)
