Great news!

I haven't been keeping up... Is the hardware design final, just not in mass production yet?

Are they holding release until the software/core is finalized or will they sell final hardware with beta software and core?

wow thought there be more out by now for the rest of the Natami team, or they use classic amigas with a secret expansion card with super aga on it?

@digiflip

This is only the third MX board populated.  There are other boards, they just don't have parts mounted on them in a usable state yet.

Hi,

Great news, I am really excited, this project has been in the works how long?

I will probably die of old age before it comes out, and by then desktops will be extinct. Oh man Agnes I think the big one is coming, see I told you I would be dead before it makes it's grand entrance.

Anyhow keep on hacking, one of these days Natami may make the big time.

Congrats to the natami team. 3 down, 3,000 to go. The 500 keyboard option is something I didn't know they had. It would be awesome to drop one of those boards into an amiga 500 case with keyboard.

You'd get the old feel without the flaky dying hardware. Every day I pray that these boards will be sold soon...

I say the first 5 assembled units should be given unique names. Perhaps the first one could be Jay... ;)

Jay would be a perfect name...

...but for the final product. :)

We are not sure about if it is final, because not all parts are tested fully yet. Most notably the PCI devices are not thoroughly tested (Ethernet, USB2 etc.) since PCI implementation has only started recently. When the entire board is tested we will know if any changes are needed. The hardware needs to be error-free. The FPGA load, on the other hand, can fortunately be reconfigured in case of a bug and upgraded by the user.

So who's the third lucky team member that's getting one or has one already?

Thomas started making the team batch in his soldering oven at home since ordering such a small run would be unnecessarily expensive. So all active team members will get their boards soon. Only Thomas and Gunnar have boards at the moment, but if you are asking who will get boards next it will probably be Jens Künzer (N68050 core) and Rune Stensland/SP of Contraz (OS SAGA support, AHI etc.).

@digiflip
We explained very carefully to you that there only were two fully populated boards available and both were heavily in use by developers when you asked. I recall quite vividly, though, that you did not listen and started spreading crap all over our forums and Amiga.org, EAB etc. when you wouldn't accept that you could not buy a board immediately.
If you are interested for real, which I doubt that you are, I am using my A1200 and ASM-One for development at the moment. This is part of ensuring that the Natami chipset reacts in the same way as the Amiga chipset in various cases.

I'd name it, "Hotel Corral Essex"

For some reason anything named that gets TONS of sales... :roflmao:

If we're doing alphabetical soundlikes, shouldn't the first one be Ay? To make it sund even cooler, define that with emphasis ala The Fonz. Ayyyyyyyy.

OK, so this thread about #3 was posted on the 8th.
Now, just 9 days later, #4...

So, at 9 days per, if you plan to go thru 500 of them, that's...
hmm... carry the 5..  divide by pi..  cosine..
4500 days..  (or 12 years..)

Sweet..
