AmIRC v3.5.29 has been released. Both versions for MorphOS (PowerPC) and AmigaOS (68020+) are available.
This version is freeware and no longer requires a keyfile.
Download it from: http://biclodon.com/software/amirc/

That's what I'm saying, and this came at a great time too because I've recently been trying to find a way to register it for classic Amiga and MorphOS.

I have an existing 3.5 drawer. I copied the newly released binary and included drawers into said existing drawer. It starts up fine, but then when I select a server it opens a small blank window titled with the server selected, then just hangs. Put the old binary back in place, all works. hrmmmmmm

That did it. Much obliged, as always.

Is this new Amirc using a normal amount of memory?
How many testers are using it on an ARM (Amiga Real Machine)?
How many testers are using it on an AVM (Amiga Virtual Machine)?
For newbs, an AVM is for example: UAE, EUAE, WinUAE, XUAE, Fellow, Amithlon, etc. (There are several others)
@Henes
Thanx for the fast bugfixes! You code like a Rocket :)

Has anyone else had problems starting Amirc?
Everytime I tried to run Amirc it gave me the error message 'vapor_toolkit.library' cannot be found....So I copied the 'vapor' file from the Amirc directory into workbench:libs and now when I try to load amirc nothing happens...no error message, I just get a few HD clicks and nothing...
Any clues??? There doesn't appear to be an install script with this distro. I tried setting up an 'assign' for the amirc directory so the shell knows where it is but still no joy.
Thanks in advance for any help ;-)
btw - I running workbench 3.0, amitcp 3.02b, 4MB fast ram.
-
I am guessing that it needs Kickstart 3.1
-
I've just doubled checked the doco and it says Workbench 3.0 or newer.
-
I think Kickstart 3.0 is just fine. Check with SnoopDos is something is missing.
-
I downloaded snoopdos and tried to run amirc...its now complaining about not being able to locate the textinput.mmc file...its looking in all the possible mui directories so I assume this is an mui file.
I tried doing a google search for this file but couldn't find much, does anyone have any ideas? or could someone send me the file?
I'm suprised I'm having problems as I have a fresh install of mui 3.8 installed and other mui reliant apps such as ibrowse work ok.
-
I uploaded all my MUI libs on an archive in case you need anything else than TextInput.
Get it here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/939939/MUI_Libs.lha
Be sure to put the required ones on MUI:Libs/mui folder
-
Your a star, thanks mate, will try those when I get home.

@ mfilos & MelbourneBen
There's also this magnificent site (http://zerohero.se/mui/). Really helped me out the other day!
-
@Matt_H
Thanks for sharing mate although the website has some really outdated versions to download. Good thing though is that it has the website of every library so it's easy get the recent ones. I used Google for every one I needed :)
-
Amirc is now working for me...turns out I just needed the textinput.mmc library. Thankyou both for your help.

Amirc v3.5.31 A68K doesn't wanna connect to any server, even the default supplied ones. It says: "Unable to connect. Error code 49 (Can't assign requested address)". Server addresses are correct, works with nettalk, chatzilla & wookiechat.
-
It runs.. I can connect. When I click on settings and then setup I get a "Program Failed" #8000000B Error. :(
