A little question regarding the A570 to help me decide on a setup I'm building - when the volume knob is turned off on the A570, disabling the A570, are the expansions connected to the A570 such as RAM expansions or the CDTV-SCSI disabled as well?
-
Hmm - tough one...
The volume switch seems to work by turning off the ROM. The SCSI expansion doesn't have it's own, so it should be off as well. The RAM expansion(?) configures via Zorro, so it should be working regardlessly.
Note that this is just from the schematics, it's been ages since I've seen an A570.

I can't speak definitively to this either, but with the kinda-similar GVP A530 acelerator, flipping it off shuts off everything - accelerator, RAM, SCSI.

Just like my ex RocHard 800C. But the memory could probably be kept.
...(reading the 570 manual...) Ok, switching off disables everything. May not be switched on/off when Amiga is running, a cold reset needed if doing on/off operations.

Thanks for the replies folks. I was thinking everything would be turned off, and it seems opinion is leading that way too. Does anyone have one they could test for me?
