Title: Expensive Amiga Book's On Ebay
Post by: amiga1084 on June 19, 2011, 07:31:04 AM
Hello All,

I have noticed on Ebay Australia a book company selling all kinds of Amiga Books at expensive prices! Does this Ebay seller have a clue on how much Amiga Books are worth today, not that much?

I would like to hear your feed back on the subject.

Thanks in advance,
Merv Stent

Good question. Saw those myself and thought it was an odd item to use as a scam. Trawled the interwebs and found that they do appear to be legit.

Makes me wonder where they came from though. No-one would be writing new Amiga books in this day and age and the sheer number of topics they cover is boggling - even AmigaUX has a dedicated book.

Would be interesting to hear from someone who owns one of them to get more information re: publication dates etc.

I faintly remember something about print-on-demand schemes using freely available texts such as wikipedia and selling that as 'books'.

BTW, plural is "books", not "book's".

Amiga General Chat - New book on Amiga? (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53020)

I don't think anything has changed since the last time this topic was brought up.

In short: It's much cheaper to print wikipedia by yourself.
