Title: Any news on the new Indivision mk2?
Post by: mousehouse on June 15, 2011, 09:27:57 AM
To satisfy my own curiosity and add a real Amiga-related thread... is there any news available on the release / availability of the Indivision MK2 for the Amiga 1200 and/or 4000?

I read on EAB that a release was foreseen around March/April 2011 after the A600 and A1200 accelerators...

If you checked EAB you should have seen Jen's last thread then:

...or if you're bored enough to click the link...

There is no release date yet. Please monitor the news, and please don't  ask me (or the resellers) for a release date, as it's just taking up  valuable time.

Sad really, I don't think there are alternatives that work well outside of finding an old ruddy monitor.

Where is the sad part?
If you mean about the delay... welcome to the Amiga world :D
Jens will release the board for sure. Till then... either try and find an Indivision 1200 (eBay/Amibay or by asking in general) or just use you old trustful RGB --> SCART, Amigamaniac's RGB --> S-VHS etc...

I actually did read up on EAB before posting - but took 4 days to post... Jens commented on June 10th - which I had not read! Anyway, it seems he is working hard on it... I hope Natami doesn't take all my money before he releases the new Indivision

We stocked the Indivision 1200 and 4000 for around two years - the production came to an end and now we are awaiting a replacement.

In the Amiga world, it is best to buy things when they are available as waiting can mean that you eventually pay more on Ebay for a second hand item.

Quite often we see items we sold 6 months ago re-sold without warranty, second hand for much higher pricing.

In the real world, a lot of people aren't just sitting on money to throw at Amiga stuff when it's released.  Sadly, this is a true story.

It does seem, though, that Jens has a good feel for this and plans a second model/release after the first dries up.

As it is for me, I'm putting coin together to get my CSPPC fixed.

I understand that of course.  To be fair to Individual Computers, the Indivisions were available for quite a long time, we had them in stock for over two years.

Absolutely.  I don't fault IC or any vendors on the Indivision, nor should anyone else.  I debated for a while on buying one for my 1200.  Of course, I debated myself right out of a new one ;)

(I was lucky to get a Deneb second-hand for a reasonable price.  Don't think I've seen those available for a while, either.)

Yes, I just figured there would be enough stock and bought a DENEB. Then I was busy doing other stuff for a while and when I got back to the game and wanted an Indivision they were sold out everywhere.

Ah well, I've been waiting for a new Amiga model for more than 10 years as well... a few months extra for the Indivision don't hurt much!

I don't think you had them in stock for 2 years. I think you had them for a few months, then not, then yes we have them, then not, then new run coming in a few months and so on.

Seemed like every time I went to buy one you were not in stock.

I dont' think that AmigaKit has any reason to lie about a stock they had or not.
The options you have are pretty straightforward though...

When you see stock and you actually care for the item:
- if you have money available --> get it and be done with.
- if you don't have money available --> sell other stuff, wait for funds to appear and get it

If in the meantime of you trying to find the funds... AmigaKit got out of stock, have you raised a ticket asking if they're getting a stock back?
- Yeah they replied they are getting more stock = Hurray!
- Yea, they replied that they aren't getting more stock = Bummer!

If bummer then you could check Vesalia, ABS, Alinea, Software Hut, in case they have remaining stock left (wtf? are they sold out all at the same time?)

If you are so unlucky mate then eBay/Amibay and Forum asking is your friend. Yep you will find most of times the prices a lot more than what they were sold some time ago but hey... you can't have everything in life.
Even so... Now Jens releasing a new version gives you the opportunity once more to get what you wanted and you haven't managed to get. No reason to whine but wait and be grateful :)

@Haywirepc
We first advertised Indivision 1200 in September 2008 (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38071) and had consistent stocks until last year when we had small batches in periodically.

In the end we all win, the new indivision will probably be even better than the first version!

Hopefully it won't be too long - I have an Indivision 1200 which a friend bought me - just before they became sold out everywhere - it's a brilliant piece of kit - Will definately think about buying one or two more when the new versions are available.
