Hi.. i recently purchased an amiga 2000HD at a yardsale. and have no Workbench program. Can anyone tell me i may find it online. If some has it to senbd i will be so grateful

First you have to find out what version of Kickstart ROMs you have inside. Then, either obtain a version of workbench that matches the ROMs you have, or purchase OS3.9 with the 3.1 Kickstart ROMs for the A2000.
The links section of Amiga.org will lead you to many Amiga retailers on the internet.
Hope this helps!

Hi mcgilla
wellcome to AOrg!
Where you come from?
Are you 100% sure to spend money in an old A2000HD?
Spare parts are difficult to find and some motherboards are too ancient and quite impossible to upgrade.
Post here your FULL config.
Ciao

You said an A2000HD so you must at least have got a controller Zorro card, most likely a SCSI card that most of the times only allows scsi devices. If you turn on the computer then what kind of screen do you get, what colours, what text ?? It IS an old computer but you still can make it a flashing piece of hardware with brandnew Zorro cards !!!

Yeah, I agree- there's nothing wrong with starting out on a 2000HD. Even old '030 accelerators and ram cards can make it a pretty fun and useful platform, not to mention you arent risking much since they are so cheap these days. Like most of the folks on here I have piles of the stuff laying around.

@mcgilla:
It sounds like your previous Amiga was an A500. If you want get hold of information about the Amiga line of computers, there are quite some sites containing lots of information.
A lot of Amiga information:
Amiga History Guide (http://amiga.emugaming.com/)
More hardware related info:
Amiga Hardware Database (http://amiga.resource.cx/)
The Big Book of Amiga Hardware (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/)
Hope this helps some!
