Title: Problems with Indivision AGA 1200 dekstop card
Post by: longice on June 13, 2011, 07:24:42 PM
I have just bought a indivision AGA 1200 desktop card on ebay. Today I tried to install the card as the should be installed with my old VGA screen. The only thing that happens is that the screen says "display mode not supported".

Anyone knows anything about this problem? Maybe there is a fault with the card itself? When I'm using the Comp. video output the video signal works as it should.

Another problem I just have discovered, is that the kickstart doesn't work anymore. When I'm disconnecting my HD and starting up the amiga, the screen only appares grey, and nothing else happens.

I'm not a skilled amiga user, just bought this amiga1200 on ebay because I used to have a amiga600 in my early days:)

Try other PC Monitor. Not all monitors a suitalbe with the Indivision. I tried to connect my Indivision on a Sony LCD TV. It gives the same message as yours.

Download the config tool and have a play with the settings.

If the computer boots from HD then the Kickstart is working.  I'm not sure why you get a grey screen if that's the case.

Hey longice,

I think it's my Indivision you bought. IIRC, it's flashed with the latest firmware, however I believe it is set for 50Hz which is how I ran it for smooth scrolling. Many modern monitors won't display that correctly.

You might have to use another output, fire up the config tool and setup the Indivision to display PAL at 60Hz (easy to figure out with the tool up and running).

Hi Damion,

Yes it's your card I'm trying to get working:)
My problem is that I dont have anything to transfer files from the PC to amiga. So therefore it's impossible for me to use the config tool, I guess.

Any good possibilites? Or do I have to get a compact flash card?

Use a 720kb formated disk to transfer it and on the a1200 side open a cli and mount pc0:

The problem is if configtool dont fit on a 720kb =(

I would be more than happy to drop a few Amiga formatted floppies in the mail tomorrow with the config tool and Jens' test disk. I probably should have reset it to the default configuration before sending it - sorry about that!

Apologies for the lag, but I managed to get your disk sent this morning. I couldn't find the test utility I thought existed, but the config tool should really be all that's needed. Please let me know your progress.

Now it's working!

I connected the amiga with regular "comp." video output at the same time with the indivision card connected. Then the config tool was available in WB. Everything works fine! Many thanks for your config tool disk.
