Hello my fellow amigans !
i have a amiga 1200 and use the above cable. This cable is connected to my seagate 2.5 inch HD the 3.5 connector is hooked up to my cd rom. However the cd rom does not get recongnized. I am using AllegroCDFS and tried to put CD0 and CD1 in devs: seperately but no result. I use kickstart 39,x with 6820 CPU. The HD has no jumpers inserted wich puts it in the following mode :
"Drive is master; slave may be detected using DASP-
signal "
Should i change any jumpers on my cd rom ? It is a standard cd rom player (not dvd) and worked fine with the same jumper settings on the Viper520 in my Amiga 500.. :-?
Hopefully one of you went trough this problem already ?
With kind regards,
Ramon Bijlhouwer

If the HDD is master, the CD-ROM needs to be jumpered as slave. "It worked fine with the same jumper settings in another computer" is not an argument.
AllegroCDFS needs a hardware dongle to run (a FastATA, EIDE'99 or such). www.elbox.com
CD0 and CD1 (only one of them is needed for one CD-ROM drive) have to be edited to match your config (device=scsi.device and unit=1).
Bye,
Thomas
