Title: Samba sharing problem, please help me!
Post by: GPT on December 26, 2003, 01:05:53 AM
I have smaba 2.0.7 installed on my amiga 1200 with MiamiDX and is sharing my harddrive with the pc and win2000 on it.

I can share files from the amiga to win2000 without problem but I can't access the pc:s harddrive from the amiga, I just get error messages:

"Error retutn browse list: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access denied.)"

Even when it allows anonymos login.

It worked fine when I hade win98 installed on the pc.

Please help.

It might be due to windows 2000 encrypted passwords?
Try temporarily disabling all passwords and see if it works.

I have Samba 2.0.7 here as well, but never used it with windows 2000.

Look at some of the info on the AmigaSamba page:
http://www.birrabrothers.com/tiger/data/samba/download/index.htm

Or ask on the AmigaSamba mailing list for more info.

Hi GPT

take a look inside the Samba/Docs archive.

There is a plain text "Win2000_PlainPassword.reg"

Ciao

How do I use those .reg files?

Where do I put the files?

Why do I need to use a password can't I leave that part out?

The .reg file is for your windows machine. Either put it somewhere and doubleclick it or run regedit and import the file.

If I remember correct, Windows 2000 doesn't allow anonymous access so you must enter a valid password. I have same username on both computers and my Windows password works when connecting with the Amiga.
